| This will be an unmissable opportunity to work along side Paul and Brian. You will need to be fairly fit as there will be a certain amount of walking included and be prepared for very cold weather and late nights. Paul and Brian, will be on hand for tips and guidance as you capture the natural beauty of Iceland. Throughout the trip you will have informal critiques of your work and one to one time Paul and Brian. This trip is less of a structured Masterclass but more of an amazing photographic opportunity. We will be staying in a 3 star Reykjavik hotel on a bed and breakfast tariff, in single en suite rooms. However if you are traveling with someone else and wish to share a twin or double room this can be arranged. We will be traveling by hire car/4x4 each day to pre-arranged stops. The price includes hotel accommodation as specified above and transport to and from the photographic locations. Flights will cost just over £200 per person. We have chosen the June date to coincide with the summer solstice and full moon. We will be out during the night shooting under the midnight sun as well as exploring the diverse wildlife of Iceland during the day. The October trip date has been carefully chosen to maximise the opportunity of seeing the Northern Lights, but we are in the hands of mother nature and so we can offer no guarantees. At night we will be out away from town to the lava flows and lakes to capture the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis), possibly not returning till 2 or 3am. Paul is a experienced astronomer; he is President of the South East Kent Astronomical Society, a founder of the Federation of Astronomical Societies, and has also collaborated on a book with Sir Patrick Moore. If you would like to see some of Paul's astronomical images Click Here. Paul will also be giving a talk on the Aurora and how to effectively capture this natural phenomenon. Brian will be making the tea; Click Here for more information. As you can imagine, due to the high cost of living in Iceland the trip is quite expensive, but this is an once in a lifetime photographic experience, and we have kept the cost to you as low as possible.
