- We have fully structured teaching methods: our tutors are fully qualified tutors as well as being active professional photographers. They have many years
experience in the industry, teaching in colleges and training
in the workplace.
- Emphasis
is not just placed on how to use your camera, but on understanding
what makes a successful photograph.
- We
follow a tried and tested digital workflow to get the best out
of your images.
- We
guarantee a ratio of no more than 4:1, with both of our tutors
fully qualified within their field of excellence as well as being
professional lecturers.
- Having
two tutors allows us to have a greater flexibility, enabling us
to cater for your needs.
- Our tutors may shoot along side you, but as a learning
tool we will show you what we are shooting and explain how and
why we set up our shots.
- By
using short workshops, lectures, guided learning times and handouts,
we can ensure that what you learn will be remembered.
- We
not only teach good photographic techniques, but conceptual content, visual
language and understanding of image manipulation.
- Our photography courses
are fully structured and use tried and tested teaching methods.
- Our photography
tutors have many years experience in the photographic industry, as well
as teaching in colleges and training within the workplace, delivering
National Diplomas (ND), Higher National Diplomas (HND), Degrees, NVQ and
Modern Apprenticeships. After all, just because you are a professional photographer it doesn't follow that you can teach subject effectively.
- We
have a comprehensive online learning zone, that contain all your learning materials, you can use over and
over again.
- You
will also have a handbook containing all of your handouts to take
home. Your learning starts with us, and you will take away many
techniques and tips that can be applied to your future photography.
Over
the years we have studied other pro-led photography courses, and found that:
- Their
teaching methods are badly structured for optimised learning, e.g. find a location, all shoot,
then ask for tips.
- The
ratio of student to tutor is high, often as much as 20:1.
- Even
if the ratio is lower you will often have a professional and an
assistant.
- The
professional has been known to spend more time taking his own photographs, so hence you
are on your own or left with the assistant.
- What
you learn isn't memorable.
- Teaching
programs are not flexible.
- We have found that the tutors may well be professional photographers but very rarely qualified as teachers.
We would actively encourage you to compare our courses with the other companies offering similar photographic tuition.
We are confident of the quality of our courses, the progression of skills you will take away with you, as well as being
value for money.
When you compare DigitalMasterclass to other courses, ask yourself these questions:
-
As well as being professional photographers are the tutors fully qualified as educators?
-
Is there a low student to tutor ratio?
-
Is the course structured to enhance your learning experience?
-
Is the course flexible enough to accommodate your individual needs?
-
Does the company offer you any additional learning support beyond the completion of the course?
-
Are the courses accredited by an awarding body rather than a magazine or a association
We are proud to declare that DigitalMasterclass can say YES to all of these.
We
are always pleased to keep in touch with our past students, it's great to hear when they have had photographs published, or started
