I'm currently progressing through First Steps. I took some time looking for an on-line course to learn and develop my photography skills. Having found DMC and chatted with Brian I realised how lacking all the other course suppliers I looked at were in comparison. In my opinion its important to learn about the photographic basics and to be able to demonstrate this in your images. This alone will improve your images from "happy snapper" level and you will start to get good feedback from friends and family. Then on to basics such as Aperture and Shutter priority reveals how creative I could be with the camera, you'll never use "Auto" again. The online courses allow you to progress at a speed suited to your lifestyle and also where you can spend much time experimenting before learning the next element. Its giving me confidence in using my camera, making my hobby enjoyable and best of all I've begun producing images that people positively comment on. In addition this expert advice is always available."Expert advice is always available and I’ve asked Paul many questions varying from lens choice, image printers, portfolio’s for displaying printed images etc and the advice has always been prompt and gratefully received"

Beginner / Happy Snapper.
I'm currently progressing through First Steps and will go onto Next Steps. I will also take one or more of the advanced courses.
Many people fear making the first step and taking a course since they feel their skill level is not good. The course will overcome this fear and if not convinced look at the student gallery (I say student but we range from young to old). Many images here are from beginners like myself. Its also inspiring looking at what other people have done and using this to try something similar yourself. I feel I've developed an interest into an enjoyable hobby and continue to progress my skills.
